    Default Flushed face

My DS is 20 weeks and EBF. Lately I've noticed that his face will occasionally get flushed when he starts to nurse. Sort of red and blotchy on the sides of his cheeks, temples and forehead. I figure it's harmless and might just be a natural characteristic of his complexion, but I'm curious if anyone else has ever seen this. It occurs to me that he often cries a little just before nursing (he's impatient for me to get ready!) so perhaps it's related to that?

could be he is starting to teeth and it hurts a bit. Flushed faces “generally“ in my experience mean fever or teething in that age.

Hmm, no fever... seems perfectly healthy. Maybe teething though - he has been doing a lot of “gnawing“ on things lately, but I figured that was just normal baby behaviour, not necessarily teething. I guess we'll find out! The flushing does go away after a few minutes.
