Default My Most Recent Character Cake

I just finished making this cake for my dd's preschool tomorrow (it is their teachers' last day ). Not the best I have done as I was on a bit of a time crunch.. but it turned out ok dd will be thrilled in the am as she is a carebears freak - lol.

Thanks It really is honestly not that difficult.. sort of like colouring with icing.. it is just time consuming - lol. However I absolutely love it.. so I guess that helps too. I will find some others on of these days and add pics of them too. There are other mom's on here who do these too.... and one who does awesome self created ones too. I often cheat and use a pan like this one.. but have my creative moments occasionally to

Wow, that is awesome ! How long did it take you to completely ice it?
Isn't that one using little star shape tip to cover the whole thing? Your inspiring me to want to do this. Any other tips or advice?

Nice!!! i'm doing a yellow care bear for dd's first in May. She has a stuffed one and she says ta brr, ta brrr, and makes him dance .... because I always do the 'teddy bear, teddy bear turn around' song with him lol. So cute.
I did a Mickey one for my son's third bday -- lol anyone trying this the first time know that the icing pastes (little tiny jars) are VERY VERY strong. I used this, a fair bit, to do the black for Mickey. Stained everyoen's lips LOL. oooops. But, sure was a black black No greyishness.

Have you ever tried doing a smooth surface, or do you do the star tip the whole area? Just curious. I did smooth for the last few, but it was so hard, wondered if you had tips.
