    Default martial arts

We are considering trying some sort of martial arts for our 5 year old DS. He's not really interested in team sports, yet (I hope that comes)..I have heard a couple good reviews on North Family Karate. Can he try out a class first to see if he likes it? DH and I know nothing about this sport. TIA.

I've heard the downtown Y still offers karate as a free activity, but it may be difficult to find a space (we don't go to that one so I can't confirm) if you have a Y membership.
I've heard great things about the karate facility that is at Fanshawe and Wonderland, southwest corner. They have a one month trial option that I've seen advertised before.

We have our boys in Jiu Jitsu & LOVE it. Their teacher is SO awesome! & the boys look forward to every.single.class.
It is called “the submission academy“.....if you look it up on FB they have a page or their website is:
The Submission Academy | Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu | London Ontario Canada
Seriously I cannotcsay enough great things about this class! & the 1st class is free.

Ditto to this! My kids take classes at the South location and they are SO amazing with the kids. My nephew has been taking classes there (2nd degree black belt) for about 8 years now and only has positive things to say about them. Highly recommend.

my son is also not really into team sports- so we found baseball which is really quite individual- a good fit.
He also would not want to do any combative type marshall arts so we have him in Aikido- self defense type art- taught to the Japanese Police Dept for protection. He loves it, and is waiting for the day he can flip me....lol
pm me if you want more details on it.
