    Default Dr. J Schmidt

Ihave been referred to Dr. Jordan Schmidt by my family doctor. I have had 3 misscarriages in the past year and have endometriosis. I was wondering if anyone knows if Dr. Schmidt deals with high risk patients? Im worried that my doctor has made this referral and i will get there and he wont want to see me and i will have to wait to see someone else. Any experience with this?

Are you already pregnant? I'm not sure how much experience he has in IF.

He covers for my HR OB, Natale, so I believe he does have HR experience........ but I don't know how much.

shut up! He told me to abort Markus because he was tested positive for Downs. So I switched to Dr. Robins, who does abortions, and he read my file, and thought thats what I was there for and had me all scheduled to go for one. Which thankfully my mom asked what my appointment was for, and we made it very clear we were not there to abort. I kept Dr. Robins as it was an honest mistake, it was put in my file that Schmidt referred an abortion...

Just my luck he was the one who was on call and delivered M.

WOW! I knew I didn't like the guy much but couldn't really put my finger on why....... He's covered my last two appointments and would have covered the one I'm supposed to have this week but when I found that out, I just asked if I could put it off for another week. Aye, aye, aye....... sure do hope he's not the one on call when I go into labour for this one!

I'll go against the grain and say I had him for all three of my children and LOVED him as an OB.

I had Dr. Schmidt for my DS. He was awsome, went out of his way to do extra ultra sounds to make sure there were no birth defects, since DD2 was born with a life threatning one, was very reassuring.

I had no problems with him either. He was my OB with DD2 and was on call when I delivered.

One week my appt was with Dr Natale and he freaked out because I was measuring behind. Thank goodness I knew I measured way behind with my 8lb DD1 too. He freaked me out!!

Does anyone know: In order to switch OBS do you have to get another referral from your family doctor?

Im glad to hear that he is liked (by most people at least). I know there are going to be people who have has bad experiences with him. I have had a bad experience with a Dr. in St thomas so im just doing my research to hopefully avoid another one.

I had him and he was very supportive in my decision to have a VBAC.

What are you looking for in an OB? What experience are you trying to avoid?

I found that he answered all of my questions, took time to address my concerns and was open to discussion about alternative methods to induction since I really wanted to avoid being induced.
