Default Can You wear shorts to church?

I have a baptism to go to today and my son doesn't have any dressy pants nor does his dad. I work all day so I can't pick anything up.
Can they wear shorts to church?

depends on the church - the church we attend it would be fine, the church I grew up in no way

I think it would be fine but I'm not keen on dress codes like that

You're there for the baptism, to support the child and the family.
If its a real concern, send your DH out to get the pants. He's home he can do it.

I hear you. It will look fine for your son as long as he's dressed nicely, your husband, that's where people might look, and you might notice.

Depends on the church. Is it Catholic? If so, you're fine. I wear shorts to church and mine don't reach my knees like guys shorts do!

I think so. Like nicer golf kind of shorts? For the Dad. Not cut off jean shorts. Or super short oh-dear-is-that-pubes-or-leg-hair kind of shorts.
Stop thinking you’re not ready. – Nobody ever feels 100% ready when an opportunity arises. Because most great opportunities in life force us to grow beyond our comfort zones, which means we won’t feel totally comfortable at first.

Unfortunately he can't as he's not home he is on his way home from a 14 hour midnight shift, will get home at 10:00 and have to be up for 12:30 to go to chuch

I think it would be fine.

As long as they are decent shorts- not work or swim shorts.

Shorts would be fine for any of the churches I've been to in London (North Park, Gateway, LGT)

DS1 wore white cargo, or khaki shorts (i don't remember which ones) to DD's baptism with a nice button up shirt. I think shorts are fine.
