Default no poop.... how long is too long?

My baby is breastfed only. Since about the 6 week mark she's seriously slowed down on the poop production, only pooping once every 5 days or so. However it's been TEN DAYS since her last BM! I'm starting to get concerned! We're seeing the doctor on monday, is that soon enough?

We went to day 14- which was the longest ever. Belly massages with olive oil and leg pumps got things going. I do that every day with our babies. Just cuz they say its normal to have them wait that long. But i bet they feel full/crampy by then. Our last one was like clockwork, 7 days and she was a total mess!

Really? Since when did you become a health care professional? It's definitely normal. I had a 3 week old in on Friday and as a training NP working with a Ped's doctor, she told her up to 21 days is normal, as has the health unit told me similar, but what do I know. If the baby appears unwell, than I would be concerned, but if there is no other symptoms, it's fine.

My LO is growing quite well and seems otherwise content. She is my 'easy' baby. Rarely cries, sleeps really well, but she's definitely alert and active at times. I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow for her 2 month checkup so hopefully she can give me some advice. We're still waiting!

doctor said to try watered down prune juice. I'm waffling. On the one hand she's gone a long freaking time without pooping! On the other hand, she's 4oz from doubling her birth weight, she sleeps well, she has periods of alertness, she seems FINE to me and I'm hesitant to go messing with her digestive system if this is just normal stuff. hrm.

I would not want to give her prune juice either. But it won't hurt her. I would start with the belly rubs with olive oil and see where that takes you.

I hate to say this, but she will poop when you are least expecting it. Those are the scary poops. LOL

When we went to FL when DD1 was 6mo old (not on solids yet) she was regularly going like 7-10 days between poops. Of course, she had her one rare poop and it was incredible. Think filled diaper (obviously) but the complete pants from waistband all the way to onto the socks.
