Default Did your back pack last?

Did your child's back pack make it the whole year? What about lunch bag?

DS1's bag had a small hole in the bottom by Christmas and I didn't think it would last but that whole never got any bigger (the diameter of a pencil) and other then that is fine and it was $20 from Walmart. His lunch pail zipper broke three weeks ago and it was a character one from Walmart.
DS2's bag lasted no problem, it is from Children's Place on sale was $10 on sale. His lunch bag matched his bag and also lasted no problem, it was $5 on sale.

    This thread is hilarious.

Neither made it. Bag broke just before XMas. I knew it was on its last legs and wrapped one up for her. But it died about a week before XMAs. So she got it early.

Lunch bag died too. I got her a new one and her sister a matching one. But hers melted in the dryer. No idea why since it wasn't the first trip through. And then there was one. Lol.

dd1 broke the zipper on 2 back packs. My mom fixed the one so that it was usable but she said if it breaks again she probably wouldn't be able to fix it without replacing it.

ds1's back pack is fine and lunch bag is fine.

Guess I messed up my answers because I should have answered a back pack lasted also.

We got a bargain backpack/matching lunchbox set at Zellers or Walmart at the beginning of the year. The lunchbox is still fine. The backpack bit the dust months ago, so we pulled out the one he used last year...and it is now all kinds of toast. It will be going straight into the garbage Thursday at 4:05pm when it makes its last journey off the bus.

all but 1 lunch pail made it, 3 out of 6 back packs made it so not to bad. Usually we replace all back packs and all lunch pails by christmas and back packs again in late spring.

The pokemon backpack died a long time ago- both zippers eventually fell off completely!!! so we coudn't zip it up.

The new backpack my parents gave him - my dad won a nice Roots one from golf right before the old one died so it was good timing - it has a huge hole between the front and back section, BUT that hasn't impacted its use at all and both zippers still work.

Bakugan lunch pail is still working great

Oh. I saw an awesome kids size hiking pack at MEC a few weeks ago. Was $40. Loved it. Sadly I think mind would rather have some annoying character on hers.

We had a Gap set (lunch bag and backpack) both made it in almost perfect condition! His lunch bag has some staining and one small tear inside but the backpack made it through with nothing except a hole in the mesh pocket on the side.

My DS (grade 1) still has same back pack since Sept. and I replace lunch pails 3 time in the year. They stink after awhile (no matter how many times I soak and wash.

We got an ugly Tinkerbell backpack/lunch bag combo from Zellers. It lasted, sadly She got a DIY messenger bag for her birthday and started using it in April and they play with the fairy one now.

ETA: DD2's stuff lasted as well, but she only went to preschool 2x/week, so not that hard to keep.

Shockingly DS2's cheap character backpack survived the year of JK. Barely. It's total trash now though.

DS1 has a Costco Roots backpack and it still looks almost like new. Luv it!

They both have balanced day lunchbags and they are okayish. They could stand to be replaced but I'll probably keep using them until they give out, probably mid year next year.

    Lunch pail died before christmas.

Dd1 went through 3 bags. Two from Roots ( the store) one before the first mth was over and the second one barely made it to Xmas and my mom fixed that one for her. The zippers were awful on it We got her third one at Costco (roots) and it's held up since March. Her lunch bag is torn but she's kept using it. I do have a new one already for next year to match her back pack.

Dd2 got two bags but only cause the zippers on the first one were awful. Her lunch bag has held up but is just icky inside. I've got a new one for her that matches her backpack two.

Their lunch bags were from Costco
