Default What book are you reading now thread?

I have been part of a Book club for a while and read the Saturday Globe and Mail section for good reads. I consider myself an avid reader but many others may find it difficult to get into a book and need some coaxing and support.

I want to start an active thread for LM's to tell what book they are reading. I'm sure others are not in Book clubs and want to know what to get at the bookstore or at the library -- that are good reads or not.

I'm sure within a month of two, we will have a plethera of books on our bucket list -- and I hope this thread can continue throughout the year and beyond.

Let's post what we are reading now!

    I'll start.

After a great read from my SS last month, Before I Wake by Robert J. Wiersema, one off the Globe and Mail list that I have not read -- thank you!

Now I am reading my Book Club book Loving Frank by Nancy Horan. My turn to chose off the Book in the Bag List so I chose the book because I am fascinated with Frank Lloyd Wright and his architectual style and the whole Arts and Crafts style which I enjoy to dream. I just started the book a couple of days ago and it is quite the read. Romantic in the era of the early 1900's that is clean, decent and fascinating.

I just finished reading “The Help“. I loved it! I had to watch the movie afterwards, which was ok but definitely (as per usual with books into film) didn't do the book any justice.

    I am currently reading HypnoBirthing

The Pact is an amazing book, you won't be disappointed. Make sure you have tissues handy though. One of my favorites.

Reading right now: Black Creek Crossing by John Saul. I've read it before but I love it.

Kitchen House! I just read it and I thought it was amazing! Better than The Help. Probably one of my fav books ever. I also liked The Book of Negroes. The Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers was great too. I also liked Pillars of the Earth and the next book that comes after it. Sorry, a lot of books there. I love to read and those are my favorites. The Kitchen House wins though.

Yeah, I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I'm reading Fifty Shades Darker right now. It's a train wreck. I can't stop reading it, even though I don't want to.

Also reading After the Beautiful Forevers I think it's called. It's our book club book. It's okay. Set in the slums in India.

I read, “The Help“ not too long ago. I liked the book much better than the movie. I also read “Jane Austen in Scarsdale“, which was OK. Now, I have “The Dovekeepers“ by Alice Hoffman on the go.

“The Pillars of the Earth“ is on my to-read list, too.

I read “A Discovery of Witches“ a few months ago and it was great!

I am currently reading: Before I go to Sleep by S.J. Watson. I am having a hard time getting into it, but heard it was good.

Earlier this week I read 2 VC Andrews books (only thing at the hospital) and 4 People type magazines lol, again at the hospital.

I've read a lot in the last 3 weeks, had to get it all in before summer semester started

I read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, the Hunger Games trilogy and all three in the Fifty Shades series.

For the next 12 weeks all I'll be reading is Soc/Psych and microeconomics. Yay me!

    The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Some others I have liked read are:
The Sparrow by Mary Dorian Russel
    Borstal Boy by Brandan Behan
