    Default Blood work?

    I need to get hannahs blood done, anyone suggest a good place to go? LO freaks out at the site of anyone in a uniform, so need to go somewhere they will understand her needs!!
    Ideas please

    You could call the PMDU (pediatric medical day unit) at Children's hospital and see if they will do it. They are specially trained and experienced with children (vs the usual blood test place) they also have Child life specialists. When DS had his chemo he had frequent tests and usually used EMLA cream, often on the back of his hand with small butterfly needles. They will tell you if that is appropriate for the type of test you need. You can buy EMLA patches at the drug store and put it on 1 hour before the blood draw.

    If you haven't gone yet, I totally second Nananana's post! PMDU is great. But they only do up to a certain age. The downside for your DD is that they all wear scrubs. Good luck!

    I take DS only to the PMDU for blood work. They arequick and fantastic there.
