French Playgroup?

Are there any French speaking families getting together for playgroups?

Would anyone be interested?

I know La Tamise puts on a French playgroup/story time, haven't been yet though... my daughter is only 6 months old, I feel like she might be a little young....

La Tamise has one Monday-Friday 9am-1pm. I go with dd and ds2 (almost 7 months old.) They have baby toys and an exersaucer so she could play.

I know La Ribambelle has a calender of activities. I believe they are at Child Reach on Thursday mornings.

Thanks for the info! It's good to know La Tamise has some baby appropriate stuff... I think I'll check it out!

They used to have one at Childreach one morning a week, but I can't remember when that was.

HI, can you PM me or reply to this with info about La Tamise? I have heard about the playgroups but can't seem to find anything online about it.. Where is it located? Do I have to register, or is it a 'drop -in' environment?

It is in the old school at the corner of Dundas and Highbury, on the second floor. Just ring one of the buzzers at the front door and they will let you in. Go up the main staircase and the French OEYC (Centre de Litteratie des Enfants or something) is just across from the staircase on your left, with a baby gate across the door. There should be a section of the school coat hooks where you can take off your boots, hats etc.

It is all drop-in, there is a loose schedule of events (story in French, snacktime etc) and then usually some time in the gym at the end where the kids can really run, which is awesome).

It is all very welcoming and relaxed.

I haven't been in a while so someone correct me if anything has changed!

We haven't been to the playgroup at La Tamise yet, but I hope to get there next week with my 2-year-old.

Here are the regular activities put on by La Ribambelle:

1 – Poupon me parle, à l’Académie de la Tamise, à tous les lundis de 10h à 12h. Il s’agit d’un groupe de discussion pour les mamans et leurs bébés âgés de 12 mois et moins. Il y a une halte garderie, si vous avez un enfant plus vieux qui vous accompagne.
2 – Royaume des copains, au carrefour Jean Vanier, à tous les mercredis de 9h30 à 12h. Il s’agit d’un groupe de jeux et d’un cercle en français.
3 – Les p’tits fous du français, à Childreach, à tous les jeudis de 9h30 à 12h. Il s’agit aussi d’un groupe de jeux et d’un cercle en français.
4 – cercle en Français, au OEYC Fanshawe rue Dundas, à tous les 1er vendredi du mois, de 9h30 à 11h30. Il s’agit aussi d’un groupe de jeux et d’un cercle en français.

Toutes ces activités, sauf poupon me parle, sont pour les enfants de 0 à 6. Vous y trouverez activités pour les enfants des différents âges.

I emailed her last week and she said it ran Monday - Friday, 9am - 1pm. And they even have a free snack everyday and a free lunch once a week. If you have any questions, you can just email her via the ad in kijiji (that's how I got the info).

I might see you guys there. I'm hoping to get there Wednesday.

The La Tamise is everyday from 9am-1pm. It is a really great playgroup. We are there most days because I drive DS1 to school. Unfortunately we have an appointment this Wednesday and I don't think we will make it.
