Default La Leche League in London

    Hello
I've been gone for a while but now I'm back and wanted to ask if anyone knows how active La Leche League in London is? I also wanted to know if anyone is/has been a member and a few other questions that may seem ridiculous but I don't know. For example, do you bring your child with you or not? Are there any groups in London that have worked with/had experience with someone who is disabled?

They have a monthly daytime meeting and a monthly evening meeting both held at the OEYC West which is located next to Jean Vanier school across the road from Westmount mall. Bring your child(ren)!

The daytime meeting is the last Thursday of the month at 10am.

The evening meeting is the second Thursday of the month at 6:30pm.

Thanks for the info! Can I really bring my child? She's not an infant anymore. I'm also blind and admittedly scared to bring my child to a new bunch of people who don't know me and make a fool out of myself while trying to mind my toddler in an unfamiliar environment.

I've only been to a couple meetings but at that time I brought my infant and toddler with me. I hope you are able to go and get the support you need.

I'm kind of scared to go alone. Maybe I'll call them first to let them know I'm coming and to let them know I'm blind. I'm more interested in going so I can eventually become a mentor and ultimately, a lactation consultant in the far distant future.

I haven't been in ages but if you'd like someone to come with you I could do that. Just let me know which meeting you'd prefer (daytime or evening).

That is a very generous offer and I will keep that in mind. I will make initial contact with LLL and then I'll contact you.

I am about to have my 3rd baby soon (due Feb.19th!) and I was thinking of becoming a LLL leader. So I plan on going to an evening meeting (and continuing to do so) soon. If you would like I could go with you. I would love to have someone 'new' with me as well!

I appreciate all the bites! I'm going to call them to ask about how the meetings run/attempt to gauge whether I should or should not bring my daughter. I know it's a no-brainer for most, but unfortunately, blindness plays a part in my decision-making. Once I decide on a meeting, I'll have to figure out how I'm getting there. I will throw this thread back out there when I'm positive I know what I'm doing. Thanks for the support, though!!! I eventually am hoping to become a LLL leader, too! It's one of the steps on the road to becoming an IBCLC.

Is there a LLL meeting this month? Are there still LLL meetings at the OEYC west? I was going to the LLL leader's house for a while but haven't been receiving the monthly emails - not sure whether I offended someone or somehow got removed from the list.

Call Babeez In Arms - they have a drop in meeting on Mondays during the day (not sure if it is weekly or only monthly), but they can let you know when the meetings are.

I believe there are still meetings at the OEYC, but Babeez is another location to look into.
