    Default Liquid Melatonine.....

Give me the good, bad and ugly!!

I bought the liquid 3 mg and gave my kids .25 ml, my kids are 3 and 5 yrs. It doesn't have a child dose on the package but my sister talked to someone and they said .50 ml's was fine. My kids fell asleep so fast I now feel bad but they don't settle and my son lays there worrying otherwise. suggestions welcome.......

For the first two years we gave DS1 .50 ml and now he gets .75 ml.

M can you check your bottle and see how many mg's it is. Ours is 3 mgs and we gave .25ml and it knocked them out like a horse!

It's 3 mg, but even at .50 ml would only be 1.5 mg. I think you are not used to them sleeping....lol.

DS1 always falls alseep within 15 minutes of taking it. If we miss a dose it would take him hours to fall asleep.

I think you will know by how they feel when they wake up. I know if I take 3 mg (took it for jet lag) that I feel fine, one night I accidentally took 6 mg and I felt it the next morning.

If 0.25ml works then go with that, but it is supposed to work quickly. We only increased it because of DS1's issues.

Thanks M for all the help. That is the same one we are using. I giggled by the way when you said I am not used to them sleeping - so true, so true! I will read your article tonight when I go to bed, I think it will make me feel better.
