    Default Bathroom renovations

I think DH and I have found a house we are really interested in that's reasonalbly priced, but the bathroom in the basement will need work. Does anyone have any idea what it costs to get a bathtub/shower installed? It's currently a shower but it looks very poorly installed (there are tiles propping up the bottom on one side). I'm a bit scared of doing a bathroom reno, but we love everything else about the place. We would also get a home inspection for sure before buying it.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

If you want to have a company like Bath Fitters(who I highly reccomend) come in to do the work your looking at $2500.00-$3000.00 to have the tub and shower walls covered. It's a one time deal.

We had them do the Bathtub walls in our main bathroom and are VERY happy with the work they did. We want to have them come back(when we can afford it) to cover the tub.

ETA you don't have to have them cover the tub. They can just do the walls. If there is damage to the drywall you should replace it before they come in IMO.

We had a tub surround put in about 13years ago...it still looks good.
If you are really serious about the house, and get a good home inspector- he should be able to tell you how much it would cost. Everything that needs to get done in our new place was itemized with time frame to expect to have to do it, and the cost we would incurr....
Is it on MLS???? I am still addicted to looking.....LOL
