so today we traced our hands and part of our arms to make a trunk of a tree and then used red, yellow, green and orange paint to make finger print leaves!! they didnt turn out how it looked in my head but it never does. they knew what they were and so will the parents. I love hand print and foot print pictures. I think we will get into some apple crafts next

I did these with my kiddos too when I did daycare - we did the leaves with tissue paper folded on the eraser side of pencil though - I love the fingerprint idea

We also did one similar for Thanksgiving - traced their hands on many different colours of craft paper and then cut them out and glued them (finger side up) on the back of a 'turkey' body cut out of brown bristol board - the fingers/hands acted as the tail of the turkey and then glued on some feet with orange craft paper and some googly eyes

We also did Hallowe'en “rice shakers“ empty juice bottles with a few small things (I picked up some small wooden craft ghosts, witches, pumpkins etc) and they could drop 5-6 things in the bottle. Fill the rest of the bottle with rice - makes a great shaker or an 'eye spy' game!

The craziest thing I did last year was to boil linguini noodles in water with green food colouring then when they cooled I added a bit of oil. I bought witches fingers, eyeballs and other cool little things at Dollarama and mixed them in the noodles. Then I told the children they had to sort through the guts to find the treasures. They had a blast but it was sooooo messy! I agree with the other ladies that you can google hundreds of sites to find fantastic craft and decorating ideas.

I tried this....neat idea. Instead of paint I cut out different coloured leaves for them to glue on.
