    Default sleep issues suddenly

so my ds is 2.5 yrs old and has been a good sleeper unless sick etc. suddenly this week hi is up every 2 hours!! to be fair he does have cold and one night was pretty miserable... however the other 6 nights have had no issues. he normally gets up once for a pee but latley he wants a drink or a hug or " i'm all done sleeping" !
i am getting a little frustrated with all the waking and also because he is then miserable all day.... any suggestions?

he does although sometimes he fights it... if he doesn't nap by 5 pm he is falling asleep and a nightmare! and i also want a bit of a nap myself right now... maybe this week i can try and see if skipping the nap helps. it seems like other times we have done that though he has a more restless night!! its like you can't win sometimes!

Have you tried making the nap shorter?
Or pushing it up a little bit by half an hour or so??

i put him to bed at 1 and sometimes its after 2 before he will sleep... always awake by 3 or 330 so they are pretty short... i suppose will have to play around a bit!

Possibly try and move his bedtime up then? It sounds like he isn't getting enough sleep. I know when my boys don't get enough sleep, its a vicious cycle of more awake time, then sleep time.

brendan is back to sleeping again... just up once to pee, turns out it was his cold bothering him and then developed into a raging ear and chest infection!

When sleep issues have come up with maze we give her Hyland's Calms 4 Kids . I found around 2 years she had these periods of sleeplessness and then it would spiral into hardly sleeping at all (getting up every few hours....not that it effected me ....I wear ear plugs and don't hear her so DH gets up with her ) The calms helped get her back into her normal sleeping pattern.

    http://www.hylands.com/products/calms4kids.php

You can get them at most health food stores. We get them at Lyn-Dys or S&H health.
